The Team: 

Mark Watts is the Chief Executive of UKTiE.

Mark was elected Member of the European Parliament for two terms, and became Chief Executive of UKTiE in 2010. He provides strategic counsel to some of the world’s most well-known companies and organisations, & regularly speaks and moderates conferences and events. Mark is an expert in EU policy and regulation and helps major regulators, trade associations, companies, governments and parliaments navigate the EU to protect their interests, raise their profile, enhance their reputation and extend their influence. Mark was a member of various Parliamentary Committees. As testimony to his success, and above all his ability to build consensus and deliver successful campaigns, Tony Blair appointed him to be his Government’s transport and better regulation spokesperson in Brussels. He served on the TRAN Committee of the European Parliament for 10 years.

Ryan Hunter is the Deputy Chief Executive of UKTiE.

Ryan joined UKTiE in October 2017, having previously worked at the International Transport Forum at the OECD and the Korea Transport Institute in South Korea. Having studied and worked in EU politics, Ryan has a proven record in understanding the EU legislative process but also in his awareness of the key European political trends. Ryan has helped deliver successful communication and legislative campaigns on the behalf of transport clients on a variety of topics ranging across all transport modes. Ryan has a Bachelors’ Degree in International Politics from Aberystwyth University and two Master’s Degrees from Maastricht University and KU Leuven. Ryan is a native French and English speaker.
