The European Commission welcomes the decisive action taken by EU legislators on coastguard cooperation and maritime border control. Three EU agencies can now join forces, streamline activities and avoid duplication of efforts, with the result of a better service to national authorities.The European Maritime Safety Agency’s monitoring of the maritime situation is already shared with European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA), Frontex and Member States to sustain their maritime surveillance needs and to support their operations.
