The European Commission today launched a public consultation on the development of an Integrated Research, Innovation and Competitiveness Strategy for the Energy Union foreseen for end 2016. The Commission will collect the opinions of stakeholders and interested parties, including EU citizens and private and public organisations on the EU’s transition to sustainable, competitive, energy-efficient and low-carbon economy. Transport as one of the main users of energy will be a vital element of the strategy.
