Driving Connectivity, Competitiveness & Collaboration across Europe

šŸš€Ā 1. From Reset to Delivery – Turning Momentum into Action

Following the success of the UK–EU Reset Summit, key UKTiE priorities were acknowledged and taken forward. A clear sign of the growing recognition of transport’s pivotal role in the UK–EU relationship, and of the impact of the UK transport sector speaking with one voice.

The focus now shifts from ambition to implementation. UKTiE is committed to turning commitments into concrete progress:
āœ… Establishing a Common SPS Area to reduce trade friction and strengthen resilience.
āœ… Advancing ETS linkage and cooperation on the Internal Electricity Market.
āœ… Embedding transport and trade resilience as pillars of economic security.

šŸ”§Ā Next Steps

  • AdvanceĀ customs digitalisationĀ and interoperable data systems.
  • EnhanceĀ rail, environmental, and security coordination.
  • DeliverĀ green trade corridors,Ā linking infrastructure, ports and regions.

šŸ“¢Ā The reset created momentum — now it’s time to deliver.

šŸ’¼Ā 2. A Lot Done, A Lot Still To Do

2025 has been one of UKTiE’s most active years yet, strengthening engagement with:

  • UK transport and trade stakeholders,Ā bringing everyone together, to successfully shape the Reset Summit.
  • EU institutions & the UK Mission,Ā building trust and strengthening influence.
  • National, regional, and international partners,Ā driving collaboration.
  • Industry and local government leaders,Ā driving connectivity and competitiveness.

ā€œOur meeting with the UK Transport Minister in Whitehall reinforced our shared ambition to turn the UK–EU reset into real-world results.ā€

Our collaboration with theĀ BritCham European Economic Security & Competitiveness (EES&C)Ā programme has added new energy to work onĀ supply chain resilience,Ā green infrastructure, andĀ digital borders.

Still, major opportunities lie ahead — guided by our four keyĀ reset asks:

1ļøāƒ£Ā Smarter Borders, Smoother Flows
Reducing costs and delays throughĀ AI-driven customs,Ā digital documentation, and swift implementation of theĀ SPS AgreementĀ to strengthen supply chain resilience.

2ļøāƒ£Ā Reconnecting Cross-Border Rail & Freight
Removing bottlenecks and restoring services — includingĀ mutual recognition of driver licences,Ā ERTMS interoperability, and investment in key corridors.

3ļøāƒ£Ā Greener, Cleaner Corridors
BuildingĀ green shipping routes, including aĀ Dover–Calais–Dunkirk corridor, and advancing aĀ UK–EU EV partnershipĀ aligned with shared decarbonisation goals.

4ļøāƒ£Ā Strengthened Innovation & Standards Cooperation
Expanding UK participation inĀ Horizon EuropeĀ and shaping the nextĀ Framework Programme (FP10), while re-engaging withĀ TEN-T,Ā CEF, and fostering structured dialogue onĀ safety, AI, and emerging mobility technologies.

šŸŒ These priorities remain at the heart ofĀ UKTiE’s mission: ensuring UK–EU transport cooperation drivesĀ competitiveness, innovation, and sustainabilityĀ across Europe.

šŸ“…Ā 3. UKTiE Next Steps
