📈 We must reset our relationship with Brussels, says UK Chancellor, 14 November, London
In her Mansion House speech on November 14, 2024, Chancellor Rachel Reeves emphasised the importance of strengthening the United Kingdom’s relationship with the European Union. She acknowledged that while the UK will not rejoin the EU’s single market or customs union, there is a need to rebuild and enhance ties with European partners to boost trade and economic growth. Reeves highlighted that Brexit has presented structural challenges, particularly affecting trade and productivity, and underscored the necessity of reducing barriers between the UK and the EU to foster a more open and competitive economy.
